‘Youth of the Ummah’ (‘Y.O.U.’) - the youth activities department of Darul Ihsan Centre - held a successful outdoor ‘Adventure Day’ programme for school-going boys on Wednesday, 30 April 2014 at ‘Clubventure’ and ‘Hola Trails’ in Ballito in KZN.

Forty five boys aged between 12 and 18 years participated in a programme which entailed team building, Islamic guidance and outdoor activities such as an obstacle course and mountain biking.

The boys gathered at 6:30am at Masjid Taqwa in Sea Cow Lake and together with 6 adult facilitators from Darul Ihsan Centre - which comprised 4 Ulama members - departed for the venue in Ballito.

Throughout the duration of the activities of the day informal advices (Islamic guidance) were given to the boys with a dedicated programme on Tahara (cleanliness) held at the end of the days’ activities.

The Tahara programme detailed aspects of the Do’s and Don’ts of.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed the terrain of the obstacle course and the mountain biking trail.

Zuhr and Asr Salah was performed at the venue and lunch and refreshments was provided for all.

Alhamdulillah, the youth group returned safely at Masjid Taqwa where they performed Maghrib Salah.

The day’s programme is one of many such programmes which ‘Y.O.U.’ plans at different times in the year.
